Thanks to the generosity of sponsor Cahill Homes, 12 promising future healthcare providers will immerse themselves in our medical facility and learn from experienced staff, volunteers and other health professionals in a year-long clinical internship.
Grace’s Gap Year Intern program is designed to provide recent college graduates with essential hands-on exposure to all aspects of patient care. Interns gain formative experience in care coordination, care management/scribing, medication management, pediatrics and more while serving the uninsured in their community.
But the program is about more than just medical training. Gap Year Interns learn to practice healthcare in a unique, supportive and Christ-centered environment. Grace teaches them to address the needs of the whole person, including spiritual and social needs, and inspires interns to understand and care for underserved communities when they become providers. “The internship is all about helping future healthcare workers build strong patient relationships and launch a vision for their medical future,” said Dr. Marvin Hardy, Grace’s Mission Director and Pediatric Medical Director.
“I’ve never been part of an organization like this,” said Hannah Miller, incoming Gap Year Intern. “Everyone cares so much for others.”
Cahill homes, a family-owned luxury custom home builder, has generously sponsored Grace for more than 10 years. We are so grateful for their continued support and dedication to training the next generation of medical professionals.
