Nancy’s daughter, Amber, was referred to Grace Medical Home by Shepherd’s Hope when they discovered that Amber had low blood platelets and would need further care. “We called Grace and immediately we were scheduled for an appointment to meet with Patient Registration,” recalls Nancy.
Amber was set up as a patient of primary care provider, Dr. John Sanderson, and volunteer specialty provider, Dr. Arun Patel.
And while the quality of care of her daughter is excellent, the ambiance of Grace Medical Home is particularly special to Nancy. “After my husband passing away, it was difficult, and I was prideful in asking for help. Grace doesn’t make you feel poor, they make you feel human. They do not make you feel uncomfortable about your situation. We didn’t feel any less. They care about your health, your nutrition, your mental stage, and your spiritual life.”
“Grace holds its name. Everyone is graceful and you receive the care and love. It’s a pleasant place to drive into and you are well received from the minute you walk in the front door. The environment is peaceful all around and the staff and volunteers are cordial and caring. You walk into the word of God if you have early appointment (and attend daily devotion), which sets the tone for a positive start to the day,” said Nancy.
“My daughter loves Grace Medical,” Nancy shared. “She will start school soon, and through her scholarship, she may qualify for free medical care through her school.” That would be bittersweet for Amber who shared, “But I don’t want to go anywhere else. I have the Grace Medical Team taking care of me.”
Nancy feels the same way, “Thank God for Grace Medical, their amazing staff and dedicated volunteers who smile, greet, and accompany patients. Grace is just a great place to be.”
