Valter and Maria Izabel C. have been patients at Grace for three years. They have dedicated their lives to social work and volunteer at a local food pantry. Each week, they deliver 120 boxes of food to their neighbors in need. But in 2016, Valter and Maria Izabel needed help of their own.
Neither had insurance through work and they were unable to afford a medical plan. One of Valter’s friends, who was already a patient at Grace, referred the couple to us. Once enrolled, both were set up with a primary care provider. Valter had foot and knee pain, both of which have been resolved since he became a patient.
Maria Izabel was diagnosed with breast cancer and grace was able to coordinate cancer treatment. She is now cancer free! Valter says of Grace, “The truth, I love everything in Grace - all the nurses, the front desk. Sometimes we go there and when we see all the love and care, they always smile…this is a real blessing for us.”
