In June, lap swimmers took to the lanes for a good cause - to raise money for local charities. Among those organizations was Grace Medical Home, which received $2,000.
The event, called “Swimming to Serve,” asked swimmers with the Interlachen Country Club (ICC) to report the number of days in June they committed to swim and follow through with their laps. This idea was created to foster a sense of teamwork and raise funds for the community, which is facing challenging times due to Covid-19. For every day a swimmer committed to swimming, the Compassionately Engaged Zurcher Foundation added $10 to the fund.
Matt Long, Aquatics Manager with ICC, selected the organizations that received grants, including Grace! The other organizations were the Russell Home for Atypical Children and the Winter Park Day Nursery.
Thank you so much to Matt Long and ICC for supporting our team and patients. In these difficult and unprecedented times, this event brings a glimmer of positivity and hope to our staff, volunteers, and patients at Grace, and to the community as a whole!
