As a charitable clinic, Grace is part of a network of similarly-minded facilities in the state of Florida through the Florida Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (FAFCC). FAFCC contracts with the Florida Department of Health to implement an annual grant funding program through a $9.5 million appropriation from the Florida Legislature to care for the state’s uninsured. During the 2020-2021 grant cycle, 97 clinics provided nearly 155,000 patients with more than 414,000 medical, dental, vision, specialty care, behavioral health, and pharmacy visits – at little to no cost.
Grace has been a grant recipient since 2014 and in 2020 received the highest grant award in the state to support the Dental Center.
According to the association’s new CEO Rebecca DeLorenzo, “FAFCC is proud to continue our tradition of excellent stewardship of our State Funds Grant Program which allows clinics such as Grace to expand services to our state’s most vulnerable populations. Grace continues to be at the forefront of innovation in patient care, and we have been incredibly lucky to see the clinic’s growth throughout the last several years.”
“We are so grateful to our partners at FAFCC for supporting Grace’s Dental Center,” said Stephanie Garris, CEO of Grace. “Referrals to the Dental Center are consistently in the top five referrals to our in-house specialty care. The unprecedented collaboration between our dental and medical teams not only resolves patients’ long-term dental issues but also improves overall medical health.”
